Goodluck_jonathan3 APGA condemns plot to set Jonathan, Obiano, Umeh, Nwankwo on warpath
BY OUR REPORTER ON NOVEMBER 17, 2014
Ahead of the 2015 general elections in the country, a group, Anaocha- Dunukofia-Njikoka People Forum, has accused a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart of alleged plot to set President Goodluck Jonathan, Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, Sir Victor Umeh and Mr. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo, on the warpath.
The group, in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Modestus Ubajiaku and the Secretary, Maduabuchi Nwokoye, accused the PDP stalwart of spreading malicious stories against the trio in a bid to truncate the National Assembly’s ambitions of Nwankwo and Sir Umeh.
It alleged that some people masquerading as presidential appointees in Aso Rock were bent on creating a rift between the president and Obiano and ultimately makes the state ungovernable.
According to the group, the desperadoes, it described as enemies of democracy and good governance, had alleged that Nwankwo had been convening meetings for the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi and Governor Obiano against President Jonathan.
Against this backdrop, the organization stated categorically that there was no such plot against President Jonathan and urged him to discountenance the allegations, saying they were unfounded and smacked of giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it.
It pointed that Nwankwo was a card-carrying member of APGA and had obtained the party nomination form to contest for the Federal House of Representatives seat for Anaocha-Dunukofia-Njikoka Constituency.
Also, it noted that APGA, as a party, had endorsed Jonathan as its presidential candidate in the 2015 general elections, and as such, Nwankwo, being a loyal party member, could not be involved in anti-party activities.
