Sambo not a liability to Jonathan’s admin – Group

ABUJA-A group under the aegis of Civil Obligations and Sustainable Peace INTROCOSUP, has said Vice President Namadi Sambo was not a liability to the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. The group apparently reacting to calls from some prominent sons in the north particularly the call by former Emir of Gwandu, Maj. Mustafa Jokolo Retd who said the Vice President was a liability. The group argued that rather Sambo remains a veritable asset to the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan considering his various contributions to the government. . Addressing journalists yesterday, chairman of the Civil Obligations and Sustainable Peace ,INTROCOSUP, Daniel Nkpanam, and his secretary, Danjuma Bello Sarki, said Sambo is not a liability to the Jonathan government as alleged in some quarters. The group said against the backdrop of recent allegations by former Emir of Gwandu Mustapha Jokolo that Sambo does not have anything to offer to the Jonathan government and remains a liability, the Vice President has indeed excelled himself in his national assignment as the Number Two citizen. “We wouldn’t have reacted to Jokolo’s ranting but for the fact that it is coming at a time when elections are around the corner, this apparently shows that he is doing the bidding of his paymasters, who are bent on causing confusion and disharmony in our nation. “The President and his vice have been enjoying a cordial working relationship since the inception of their administration, which is no doubt second to none since the advent of the current democratic dispensation,” the group said and called on elder statesmen to always guard their utterances. The group added that Jonathan and Sambo are “obviously a perfect and divine combination,” saying “the mutual understanding between them is what has translated into the successes of the transformation agenda, thereby putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians. “It is no longer news that all assignments assigned to the Vice President by the President are being discharged effectively.
