Senator Urges Colleagues To Act Fast On Jonathan’s Removal

One of the arrow-heads of the plot to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan has called on other Senators championing the Jonathan-must-go crusade to act fast. It was gathered by Vanguard that Senator Alkali Jajere representing Yobe South Senatorial District said there was no favorable time to start the impeachment proceedings of Mr. President than now before the Boko Haram terrorist group wipe out his constituents from the surface earth. A source within the House said the Senators moving to impeach the President on Sunday fixed an undisclosed location for their meeting today (Monday) to finalise the impeachment plans as well as when to present the impeachment notice on the floor of the senate. Senator Jajere claimed that Mr. President has committed many impeachable offences. following his alleged breach of the country’s constitution on several occasion. He alleged that the poor handling of the insurgency in the three troubled states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe, especially his constituency by the Jonathan-led administration regardless of the huge sums of money being voted for the military, was deliberate. Senator Jajere questioned if the Senators are going to wait and continue to tolerate a leader who, cannot stop the daily physical and psychological torture of his constituency, noting that insurgency situation is threatening the corporate existence of Nigeria and insisted that the earlier they act, the better. Similarly, Senator Ibrahim Musa representing Niger North also alleged that Mr. President had in many ways breached the constitution. He accused Jonathan of insincerity in tackling the economic crisis currently affecting the country which he said was enough grouse to initiate an impeachment move against the president. He said Jonathan has been breaching the constitution over the years and that the senators have tolerated it enough. He further alleged that the Jonathan-led administration has not been implementing the budget and that is why the country is having problems with the economy. Details on Vanguard
